Giselle Collins is a company director with executive and non-executive experience in property, tourism and financial services. She has a wealth of experience in audit, risk, governance and compliance, together with deep financial experience, both ‘in house’ as Group Treasurer for NRMA and running teams and consulting for large global clients at KPMG Switzerland, Sydney and London.
Giselle was previously the Group Finance Manager for a media group (IPMG) and then went on to successfully manage large commercial businesses as CEO of a property business (The Hannan Group) and as CEO/General Manager in the areas of Property and Tourism for NRMA. Giselle provided impetus and direction to her teams to improve the fundamentals/risk profile and in doing so, profitability of her portfolio. This is against a backdrop of 15 years as a Non-Executive Director or Chairman on a diverse range of boards, primarily in the industries of property, tourism and financial services including chairing the boards of Travelodge Hotel Group, Aon Superannuation Pty Limited and the Heart Research Institute.
Giselle is currently Chairman of Hotel Property Investments Limited (HPI), an ASX300 property investment trust owning 60 commercial hotels. She also sits on the boards of Cooper Energy Limited, Pacific Smiles Limited and Generation Development Group (ASX GDG) which owns an APRA regulated board, GenerationLife, which specialises in investment bonds and more recently annuities. She is the Chairman of the Audit Committee for these three boards.
In terms of having a cultural and social conscience agenda, Giselle is Chairman as Nominee for Indigenous Business Australia (IBA) for the Investment board with indigenous co-investors for the Adina and Vibe Hotels in Darwin and has sat on another Board for IBA with Traditional Owners at North Stradbroke Island. She has also recently joined the board of Group Homes Australia, which is about doing dementia differently.
Giselle has a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Sydney, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investments from the Securities Institute of Australia, a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and a Chartered Accountant.
Peter (DipLaw (SAB)) has had over 45 years’ experience in the financial services industry. A retired solicitor and former partner of Herbert Smith Freehills, Peter was recognised as one of Australia’s leading legal practitioners within financial services.
At Herbert Smith Freehills, Peter, amongst other roles, led the financial services group and established the firm’s securitisation practice before retiring in July 2011 after 22 years as a partner. Peter was a founding member of the firm’s pro bono committee. Peter practised in Australia and in Asia, particularly in Singapore, and remains as a consultant to the firm. He has been consulted by Australian and International regulators on funds management and securitisation issues.
Peter's Board and Committee roles over the last 25 years includes listed entities in Australia, with a particular focus on financial services roles. He has also had over 20 years’ experience as a director in the not-for-profit sector.
Peter is also the Chair of the Board Audit & Risk Committee of ipac Asset Management Limited.
Michael has extensive experience consulting within the financial services industry both in Australia and overseas. Michael founded Rice Warner (then known as MJR Consultants) in December 1987 as an actuarial consultancy. At its peak, it employed more than 50 staff located across Sydney and Melbourne. The business was sold to Deloitte in May 2021.
Michael specialised in providing strategic advice to financial institutions, government agencies, industry associations and large superannuation funds. He is regarded as one of Australia’s leading experts in superannuation and retirement incomes. In 2017, he was awarded Actuary of the Year by the Actuaries Institute. In 2019, he received an Order of Australia for his contribution to business and the actuarial profession.
Michael has been at the forefront of research in the financial services sector. He led Rice Warner to provide research into many facets of the superannuation industry including analysis of fund costs, fees paid by members for a range of services, life insurance, investments and retirement adequacy. Rice Warner’s annual projections of the superannuation marketplace are now the industry benchmark.
Michael has undertaken pioneering research into Age Pension dependency and trends. He has a keen interest in the integration of social security and superannuation as well as measuring the adequacy of retirement incomes now and in future.
Shirley has spent her entire career in financial services in Edinburgh, London and Sydney working with large asset managers and global providers of custody and fund administration services. She joined AMP after 5 years with BNP Paribas in Sydney and having worked on the AMP account for 2 years she got to know the AMP business well. She now leads a team of approximately 50 people who are responsible for the operations and related oversight functions for the AMP Investments funds and the AMP Super Fund. During her time with AMP she has been directly involved in a number of the large transformational projects / divestments impacting AMP Capital and leading her team through significant change. Shirley reports to Jason Sommer, Director of Transformation & Investments and is a member of his leadership team.
Shirley is action oriented and outcome focused and enjoys the process of improving and simplify operating models as well as opportunities to enhance service delivery and engage with both internal and external clients or partners to deliver the best outcomes.

Melinda was appointed Group Executive Superannuation and Investments in January 2024, joining from KPMG where she led the Actuarial and Data Analytics team. She leads AMP’s Investment business and the Superannuation (Master Trust) business which serves personal and corporate super members.

Melinda has deep expertise in superannuation with more than 30 years in the industry. She also has experience in wealth management, life insurance, general insurance and not for profit organisations, including as CEO of the Actuaries Institute and Policy Director at ASFA.
Having spent eleven years at BT Financial Group in the 1990-2000’s, Melinda was Managing Director, Superannuation for seven years from 2014 where she led the transformation and simplification of BT’s complex heritage superannuation business to a modern digital enterprise, migrating $31bn and 560,000 members from multiple products to the go-forward offer.
Melinda is an actuary and is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia. She has executive and non-executive director experience and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She has been an active member of ASFA and the FSC over many years, including serving on ASFA’s board and the FSC superannuation board committee.
